AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS SPRING 2015

Clubs are back!  We are looking forward to enhancing this semester with clubs that our kids will enjoy.  We will accept registration immediately.  Please send in your choices as soon as possible because class size is limited.  We usually have a very enthusiastic response so don’t miss out.  

 Deadline for registration is Friday January 16.

 DO NOT DROP OFF FORMS IN THE PTA MAILBOX!

Family discount:  Sign up for one club and get all additional (lower priced) clubs 10% off.
Clubs run from 4pm to 5pm, please be at the front door of the school by 5pm.  Children will not be released into the parking lot.
BECOME A PARENT VOLUNTEER AND YOUR CHILD GOES FREE OR AT A DISCOUNTED RATE.
Please only sign your children up for clubs they will enjoy.  Teachers will not force children to participate.  Children must adhere to the club rules and behave appropriately.
Note: After school mishmar for 3rd grade girls will be on Mondays and for 4-6th grade (boys and girls) on Tuesdays.  E2K will be for 6th grade on Monday.
Mondays:  Feb. 2, 9, 23, March 2, 9, 16, 23, 30, April 13, 20, 27, May 4, 11, 18, June 1, 8 (There will be no color guard club on June 8, only Zumba.) (16 sessions)

1. Zumba for girls, K-2, $125
Have a blast and dance the afternoon away with Jennifer, a certified Zumba instructor.  Please send your child with a full water bottle to eliminate the constant need for the water fountain.

2. Color Guard, girls in grade 3 only, $125
If you've seen those blue and white flags twirling while HANC marched down 5th Avenue during the Celebrate Israel parade, that was the HANC color guard!  Learn about butterflies, drop spins and so much more with Coach Liana, a certified teacher and Oceanside High School color guard coach.  Coach Liana is also our clubs yoga instructor.  Coach Liana will prepare a routine with the girls to march in the Celebrate Israel parade.  A practice session on Friday before the parade is included.  A beginners and advanced group will run with 2 different teachers.   
PLEASE BE AWARE THAT ANY 3RD GRADE GIRL WHO MARCHES IN THE PARADE WILL HAVE TO 1-PURCHASE A HANC PARADE TEE AND 2-HAVE A PARENT MARCHING TOO TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR HER.  HANC STAFF IS ONLY RESPONSIBLE FOR MARCHERS IN GRADES 4-6.  You do not have to march in the parade to be in the club.

3. Zumba for girls, 3-6, $100
Don't feel left out, older girls!  You too can have a blast and dance the afternoon away with Jennifer, a certified Zumba instructor.  Please bring a water bottle, you'll miss out on the fun if you have to run to the water fountain!

4. Sports for boys, 3-6, $115
Daniel Orenstein, a NYS certified physical education teacher who works in many NYC public schools, will be teaching this club.  Boys will participate in a variety of sports including basketball, hockey, football and soccer, among others.

Thursdays:  Feb. 5, 12, 26, March 12, 19, 26, April 16, 23, 30, May 7, 14, 21, 28, June 4, 11 (15 sessions)

5. Art in Our World, boys and girls, K-2, $235
Our program will enable our doodlers to focus on innovation. This remarkable mixed media program includes painting, drawing, collage, print making and much more. Each lesson focuses on a different medium from paint, pastels, watercolor, chalk, clay and more. Students are introduced to renowned artists from around the world.  Activities for students will develop their creativity, imagination, technique skills, vocabulary, world vision and cognition. Our students self esteem will “soar” along the art process. The class is taught by a certified teacher in art education.

6. Knitting and Crocheting, girls 3-6, $135 (including needles you will keep)
Surely you've seen Morah Rachel Steinberg wearing one of her many knitting masterpieces in school, now you can create something just as lovely!  The girls will learn the basics of knitting and crocheting, the tools are yours to keep after the club so you can keep up your skills.

7. Project Fit, boys and girls, K-2, $160 THERE WILL BE NO CLUB ON FEB. 12 AND MARCH 12
Coach Winkie and her activities will focus on team building skills rather than individual accomplishments. Children will work together as team mates to accomplish goals. The games are different, fun, creative, and active and they teach team building skills. Some of the games we will be playing are noodle hockey, awesome ball, moon race and blind volleyball. Your kids will LOVE these games! We bring equipment for every child so there is no waiting around to share equipment, everyone moves all the time. All our programs are non competitive, based on fun and games and imagination.
